The Lake District, home of Lake Windermere of course, has been voted Britain’s greatest natural wonder.
In a recent survey conducted by Eden, a natural history television channel, the Lakes won almost a quarter of all the votes cast. The Scottish Highlands was runner-up with 10% of the vote.
The Lake District is home to Scafell Pike, the tallest mountain in England, Hardknott Pass is its steepest road and Windermere is the longest lake.
Would The Lake District get your vote or would you choose somewhere else?
